Now that President Obama has signed the Cash for Clunkers bill into law the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration has 30 days to rollout the programs. They will issue details about how new car dealers can sign up to participate and how consumers can take advanatage of the program. They have set up a website to deciminate information on the program, www.cars.gov.

The goverment is preparing to rollout Cash for Clunkers within the next 30 days. Called Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS) by the government consumers will be able to trade in their qualifying clunker for up to $4,500 toward the purchase of a new car. The trade must have been registered and insured by the owner for 1 consecutive year and be less than 25 years old on the trade in date to be eligible.
